At Ethan Lord, our custom design process allows you to fabricate a piece of jewelry that caters to your tastes, price range, and occasion. Our staff of personal jewelry consultants will work with you during every stage of construction from the initial idea development all the way through final casting. Lets take a look at the steps for customization.
We begin the design process with a private consultation appointment. Here you will conceptualize the design your heart desires. We encourage our customers to bring in any images or drawings to show what you had in mind. Once the idea has been discussed, we render a series of computer images to get a feel for what the piece will look like. Fine adjustments can be made during this step to ensure the design is exactly what you are looking for.
From this point we will take the computer images and create a three dimensional wax model. Using the most advanced technology in the industry, we now allow you to see the physical dimensions of your piece for a final approval before casting. After the wax model has been approved, the final stage of casting, setting, and polishing will bring your piece to life.
Ethan Lord’s custom design process provides the creative platform to develop the luxury accessory of your dreams. From necklaces and bracelets, to engagement rings and wedding bands; the possibilities for you to express your creativity are endless.
Rest assured that when working with Ethan Lord you will receive a piece crafted with the highest quality materials and treated with the utmost care.

This amazing 6.09ct blue star sapphire is a very rare stone set in a fully custom platinum setting designed by Ethan Lord’s own, Dallas Maynard. Since the client was overseas, the design started in sketches and proceeded to the CAD process after the design was confirmed. The ring’s design with larger diamonds filling the split provides a modern flair to a vintage style with detailed hand engraving on the splits. The subtle engraving was also replicated in the gallery bar to provide a little more intrigue from the views and to keep the consistency of the vintage look.

Purchasing jewelry can sometimes seem like a stressful activity. Deciding on different stones, style of bands, and whether to opt for earrings, rings, or necklaces are all decisions that you need to make when browsing in a jewelry store.
While it is great to have huge amounts of choice when picking out jewelry, sometimes it is simply better to have the decision made for you. If you feel personally overwhelmed by the number of jewelry options in the marketplace, at Ethan Lord we thoroughly recommend purchasing a diamond.
Why exactly are diamonds so enduringly popular? Because they are classic and timeless, because they can be understated or they can be statement pieces, and because they have connotations of luxury and grandeur.
There are very few gifts you can give that will make a loved one take a sharp intake of breath, but a bespoke item of diamond jewelry is one such gift. If you have decided to purchase a diamond for yourself or for a loved one, you will want to follow a few simple rules to ensure that you buy the perfect diamond for you.
Firstly, you have to consider the cut of the diamond. The cut determines how much light is let into the stone and how much light is reflected and therefore the brilliance of the diamond. If you have ever caught sight of a glimmering diamond from across the room, this stone was sure to have a superior cut.
You should also consider diamond clarity. Each diamond is unique and this means that virtually every stone has some imperfections within it. Of course, the diamonds with the greatest clarity are the most sought after and they also sell for the highest prices.
The color of the diamond is also an important factor that should inform your purchase. Diamonds that have a slightly yellow tinge are considered less valuable than diamonds that are perfectly clear.
Of course, the diamond is simply the stone. Your diamond of choice can be set into rings, earrings, necklaces, and lockets so that you can acquire the perfect piece of diamond jewelry for you. If you are thinking about purchasing a diamond for the first time but require some guidance, our helpful and qualified staff at Ethan Lord would be more than happy to walk you through the process, ensuring that you become the owner of a diamond that makes heads turn.

Ethan Lord's custom 4 prong platinum half round solitaire engagement ring set with a 2.0ct GIA certified F color, SI1 clarity princess cut center diamond.
The band is slightly tapered towards the top to accentuate the diamond and the v-tip prong design flows with the shape of the stone. From the through finger view, the prongs have slight signature Ethan Lord cut-outs which allow the diamond to be seen in a small space through the metal.
The eternity wedding band sits perfectly flush with the engagement ring and is a nice complementary piece with the round diamonds providing a subtle difference to the princess center. He chose an 8MM Triton white tungsten wedding band which are popular due to their durability and zero maintenance.
